Privacy Policy

The Nightly Rate is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. You do not need an account to read the site and we do not operate a newsletter, so there is no reader database to protect in the first place.

What we collect

  • Aggregate analytics. We record anonymous page views, referrers and rough geography (country level) so we know which coverage is useful. We do not fingerprint devices and we do not build reader profiles.
  • Server logs. Standard web server logs (IP, user-agent, request path, timestamp) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then discarded.

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect email addresses; there is no signup form or newsletter.
  • We do not sell, rent or share reader data with third parties.
  • We do not run third-party advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
  • We do not require an account to read any article.

Cookies

The site uses only strictly necessary cookies for basic functions such as remembering your search input across a session. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK or California, applicable law gives you rights of access, correction and erasure over any personal data we hold. Because we do not maintain reader accounts, in practice the only records tied to you are transient server logs, which age out automatically.

Changes

We update this page when our practices change. Material changes are flagged at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
